簡介
Yen-Hsi Richard Tsai is a Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematical, Royal Institute of Technology and the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences (ICES), the University of Texas at Austin. He received his PhD in mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2002. His current research interests include multiscale modeling and computation, inverse source problems, interface problems, robotic path planning problems involving visibility optimization, and image processing. His current works involve applications in crystal growth, porous media flow, seismic imaging, robotics, oscillatory mechanical systems, and endoscopic image analysis. He is a recipient of an Alfred Sloan Research Fellowship and a FEMLAB prize.

簡介
Hans G. Kaper 數學家1965 年畢業於荷蘭的格羅寧根大學，接著在該校的數學與物理科學系任教，1969 年轉往美國的阿貢國家實驗室（Argonne National Laboratory, ANL）進行研究，直至2008 年退休，在這期間獲得高級數學家的榮譽。阿貢國家實驗室為美國能源部的國家實驗室，也是美國政府規模最大、歷史最悠久的科研機構之一。他的研究主要是運用數值方法在微分方程上的發展，2008 年之後研究的方向著重在利用數學來調查氣候的變化，他與喬治城大學數學與統計學系的Hans Engler 教授共同著作一本教科書” Mathematics and Climate ”，這本書被國際大氣科學圖書館（ASLI）評選為”2013 年最佳人氣獎”。Kaper數學家也是SIAM News 的主編輯，同時也是SIAM 科學政策委員會的會員之一。目前Kaper 數學家在喬治城大學的華盛頓特區及伊利諾伊大學厄巴納-香檳分校擔任兼任教授，持續為國家及社會做貢獻。
